A copy of the X-Wing Miniatures Game Core Set is required to play. This pack includes one detailed painted miniature, its necessary cards and tokens, and one dial. Pursue the Rebellions subversive agents across the galaxy with the Imperial Assault Carrier Expansion Pack for X-Wing Designed for use within the game’s Cinematic Play and Epic Play formats, the Imperial Assault Carrier Expansion Pack’s pre-painted Gozanti -class cruiser miniature comes accompanied by two TIE fighter. Upgrade the fierce TIE Advanced with powerful cluster or concussion missiles, and demolish even the toughest enemies. A noted improvement on the widely used TIE fighter, this fighter features shielding and improved weapon systems. Playability is not bad – swooshing around is fun – but also could’ve been improved. The legendary and merciless Darth Vader blasts into furious combat, along with three additional Imperial pilots, in the TIE Advanced Expansion Pack for the X-Wing Miniatures Game. The price is about right I think, though it could’ve been a little bit cheaper. The build is good and the minifigures are decent.

The interior is a bit limited but it works. A battle droid body represents the control yoke. You can open up the front canopy and the top hatch to access the interior. This looks quite okay – not bad at all, in fact. You can fold in the flaps to put the TIE in landing mode, reminiscent of the S-foils on a Jedi Interceptor or even the wings on an X-wing.

This works fine but the plates will not stay upright so can bug perfectionists (like me). Rotating it will fire off the spring-loaded shooters one at a time. The back view does not have as many details, but it still looks good. It is used for the cockpit glass and the top hatch. Carried aboard Star Destroyers and battle stations, TIE fighters were single-pilot vehicles designed for fast-paced dogfights with Rebel X-wings and other.

The 6×6 hatches were introduced here and are SUCH a great improvement over the previous LEGO TIE cockpits. It looks pretty sleek, and I like all the curved designs. The TIE Advanced Prototype is quite a nice-looking ship. Not a bad figure but I prefer the regular film versions. This is the Rebels version, with the droopy mouth and less detailed torso printing.
